Stacey Winters heads up Deloitte’s Customs & Global Trade team. Stacey has several years experience in advising clients on international trade matters and is a renowned expert in the field of export controls. As a specialist in EU and US extraterritorial dual-use controls, her experience includes managing global export control compliance outsourcing contracts, conducting global export process reviews, and developing and implementing global internal compliance programmes focused on leading practice methodologies. both in the aerospace and defence and dual-use sectors. Stacey’s clients cover a variety of industries, including aerospace and defence, oil and gas, industrial products, chemicals, financial services, software (encryption), telecommunications, high-tech, electronics, and automotive.
Stacey has extensive experience in dealing with the authorities in the EU. Stacey frequently meets with the regulatory authorities to discuss proposed changes in policy and legislation, and has been leading many lobbying activities in the UK and EU. She has undergone significant training in both Customs and export control regulations and whilst in the US in 2000, qualified as a US Customs Broker.
In 2008, Stacey was awarded Professional Woman of the Future by the Woman of the Future Awards and Real Business magazine and was named one of the UK’s “35 Women Under 35” by Management Today.
Stacey earned a B.A degree with Honours in Export Management and European Languages from Napier University, Edinburgh, Scotland. She also established and chaired the Export Control Association from 2004 – 2009.
