Shelly specializes in helping clients navigate the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) as well as the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”). She has years of experience identifying and analyzing the risks involved in international transactions and supporting her clients across a wide spectrum of export control issues. Shelly obtains required licenses and assists businesses with voluntary disclosures. She has considerable experience working with the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Shelly’s experience with export controls began through her work with an international freight forwarder. Also, as a partner and co-founder of Pfeiffer and Young, P.C., Shelly focused on businesses who provide defense services for the U.S. government, and assisted these clients with export controls. Previously, Shelly also worked in-house for a tactical gear supply company where she secured necessary licenses and worked to ensure company-wide compliance. Shelly excels at creating individualized compliance plans for clients, including compliance manuals and corporate export training tailored specifically for the companies she serves.
