Eva Galfi, Principal at International Trade Advisors, brings over 15 years of experience as an international trade consultant to assisting her clients with challenging import and export compliance issues.
Ms. Galfi specialises in assisting Australian companies with navigating the complexities of U.S. export controls, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR). She also advises on implementing policies and procedures to comply with Australian export controls, including the recently enacted Defence Trade Controls Act (DTCA), which controls ‘intangible supplies’ of export controlled technology.
Having spent much of her professional life working as a consultant for ‘Big Four’ accounting firms, she understands the challenges multinationals face in balancing trade compliance with organisational profitability. Her clients have included multinationals on the Forbes 500 and ASX 20 including companies in the aerospace, automotive, mining, medical device, defence, consumer goods and high-tech sectors.
Ms. Galfi is an expert at translating U.S. and Australian export control requirements into compliant business practices for Australian companies. She has particular skill in designing and implementing trade compliance programs and providing practical and relevant training export controls to Australian industry. In addition, Ms. Galfi assists her clients with conducting internal audits to identify compliance issues and drafting voluntary disclosures to government agencies.
Ms. Galfi holds an M.B.A. in International Management from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies and a B.A. in Business Administration. She is a Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer (CUSECO), Certified ITAR Professional (CIP) and licensed Customs Broker. She has served on the board in Women in International Trade (WIT-NC) at the local and international levels (OWIT).
Ms Galfi is the editor of the Australian Best Practice Guide for the Management of Controlled Exports and Technology and is the author of several publications on the topic of U.S. and Australian export controls. Prior to starting her own consulting practice, Ms. Galfi held positions at Urusan Consulting, KPMG, Deloitte and PwC. In each of these positions, she leveraged her skills to achieve significant results for her clients.
