Johnny Xie is a Customs and trade specialist with eleven years of hands-on experience. He used to be a member of the official think tank of the General Administration of China Customs. His research into Anti-dumping, Customs Valuation, Risk Management and Trade Compliance has directly supported Chinese Delegations’ World Trade Organization negotiations. As an accredited trainer of World Customs Organization, Johnny has personally trained over 400 Customs officials from around 104 countries. He managed the first roll-out of World Customs Organization’s E-learning platform in Asia Pacific area when he was leading the International Exchange Department, and introduced the blended training method by integrating the E-learning platform with conventional classroom sessions which was embraced as a constructive innovation. As a senior manager, he successfully made Shanghai Customs College a Regional Training Center of World Customs Organization, and forged partnership with many international organizations such as WTO, WCO, UNCTAD, UNEP etc. Programs about Customs and trade designed and delivered by his team have benefited thousands of participants from both public and private sectors, for which Johnny is not only an organizer but also a frequent speaker. Johnny has been running several NGOs in Shanghai to facilitate technological innovation and talent services. His efforts have been recognized and supported by comprehensive stakeholders from government, industry and academia.
