Christopher R. Wall

The Honorable Christopher R. Wall served as Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Export Administration during 2008 – 2009. He is the senior international trade partner at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, where he has practiced for thirty years focusing on export controls, foreign investment, international trade proceedings and policy.
He is ranked by Chambers USA and Chambers Global in the highest tier for Export Controls and Economic Sanctions as well as CFIUS.
Mr. Wall currently serves on the Executive Committee of the U.S. Council for International Business. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences Committee on Homeland Security and Export Controls and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. His leadership positions in the American Bar Association have included Chair of the Special Advisory Committee on International Activities and Vice Chair of the Section of International Law and Practice. He has chaired the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce of Washington, D.C. and the Trade and Investment Advisory Committee of the British American Business Council.
Mr. Wall received undergraduate degrees from Yale University and Oxford University and his J.D. from the University of Virginia Law School.
